Donate Your Point and Shoot Digital Cameras!
The Free Photo Project is working to raise funds to set up a chapter project in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. We will be collaborating with a local nonprofit there who provides arts and cultural opportunities for the local low-income children. The Free Photo Project will provide free personal and family portraits to the homeless and low-income just as we have been doing here in Eugene and Springfield for the past two and half years. Founder and director of the project, Aloma Loren, will be teaching a photography exploration workshop to the low income children in the area. The workshop will give the children the opportunity to experience the joys of photography. The Free Photo Project’s mission of giving the gift of a photograph will also be incorporated into the workshop to provide an opportunity for these children to feel empowered by giving something back, no matter how little they may feel they have themselves. The workshop will also introduce professional photographers who work in the local area to the children so they can learn from some of the professionals within their own community. We need to raise enough funding to provide basic point and shoot cameras for the children (15) and the accessories that go with them such as memory cards and batteries.
